FAQ

The process involves the physical cutting of your music onto each individual PVC record in real-time. For this I utilise a professional disc cutting lathe and feedback cutting head fitted with a diamond stylus to produce superior records of high quality and durability.
Each record is cut individually into professional grade vinyl making each one a completely bespoke, limited edition. The vinyl sounds as good and will last as long than traditional pressed records (if not longer!).
Your records are then packaged in a sleeve, labels printed and shipped out to you.

The records I produce are specifically designed for your jukebox, being cut loud in order to sit alongside the rest of your original collection with ease and with the lead-in and lead-out grooves cut precisely at the correct positions for a jukebox’s mechanism (unlike many reissued versions).
Our specialised repro 78rpm records have been painstakingly designed with wide ‘coarse’ grooves for faultless playback and authentic sound on golden age Wurlitzer, Seeburg, Rockola and AMI jukes.
Give it a try… We’re sure you’ll be impressed.

My vinyl mastering service comes as standard and is already included in the price. However, prior to submitting your audio files, I recommend the following:
• Ensure the audio files are as high a quality as possible
Format: WAV, AIFF, FLAC or ALAC. A high quality MP3 is also ok, although not ideal
Specs: a minimum of 16 bit, 44.1 kHz or an MP3 with a bit rate of 192 Kbits upwards
• Please check your music for sibilant frequencies in vocals and mid-range instruments as they will cause distortions when cut to vinyl
• Please avoid the temptation to use a Maximizer, Compression or Brickwall Limiters on your music. Trust me, whilst it is standard procedure for digital streaming, it will produce poor results when cutting records. Here’s a short video explaining why.

I recommend using WeTransfer to submit your music files to me

All records are shipped in top-grade mailer envelopes via Royal Mail, UPS or other international courier service.

My preferred method of payment is by direct bank transfer, although PayPal is also acceptable (though it has additional fees).
Get in touch to let me know what records you want and we can take it from there.

I’m always happy to talk about the record cutting process, so if you have any other questions regarding Custom Cuts Mastering please don’t hesitate to message me☺.
